Eli Chalmer

Trombonist - Bandleader

Eli Chalmer coaxes round, warm tones... ...pirouetting with [his] lithe trombone. It’s a soothing sonic bubble bath, Epsom salts for the ears.

June 19th, 2017
Yesterday was our wedding day, as a special surprise for my new husband, Eli Chalmer and his incredible jazz band played a special set on the pier in Brooklyn bridge park. We hired Eli through GigMasters to play as my wedding gift to Dan. I applied a revised a permit for the band to play and discussed a playlist with Eli. He was inspired, and professional with an easy, friendly attitude. I was certain this was the band leader for this special surprise.

I told Dan, at our reception that I was going to change into my second reception dress, which I did, and proceeded to leave the venue and walk to the pier where Eli was set up to play. Dan received a note while our reception was ending that said "Dear Daniel, I love you so much... meet me on the pier for a surprise..." he walked toward the darkened pier with a few other knowledgeable friends and found me waiting there, with the band playing a full set list of his favorites, And our song "sugaree" by The Grateful Dead. Daniel fell apart crying, he loved the brass band and the surprise after a whirlwind day, ceremony and reception. This was by far our #1 favorite moment of our wedding day. The band could not have shined brighter that night.
